About The Photographer

Random facts about me…  (Pamela Nicole)

I have a little boy named Vincenzo that I LOVE with all of my heart.  I always thought I wanted a girl, I was meant to have a girl.  Now that I have my beautiful boy, I can’t even imagine having a girl.  He is perfect in every way, from his curls to his pudgy little feet.  I can’t even put into words how much I love him.

I am so blessed to have a great big loving family.  We are all the best of friends.  I am also lucky to have my husband’s family as well.  I couldn’t have asked for more.  Vincenzo has 15 cousins and counting!!

I have a dirty car.  The only time I clean it is when my father comes into town – and that is not very often.  I have accepted that I am just a “dirty car person”, and I am totally fine with it.

I started out photographing kids by taking photos of my niece and nephew – they are gorgeous humans and gave me such incredible inspiration.  On that same note… I started shooting boudoir by shooting their mom years ago…  she is equally inspiring and gorgeous!

I LOVE Mexican food.  I could eat it every day – breakfast, lunch and dinner – for years, and I would never complain.

I can’t stand silence.  I always need music.  I sometimes wish that I could have a soundtrack to my life – like in a movie.  It could follow me around and play the most appropriate song for each moment.

I have a FABULOUS singing voice….  when I am alone.  I truly feel like I was a smoky jazz singer in another time…  I sing to EVERY song – and am lucky enough to have married a man that doesn’t complain …not even on road trips.

I can’t stop saying “I love you”.  To my husband – to my Vincenzo….   I think I get it from my Dad.  He must have told me every chance he got that he loved me.  I open my mouth and it just comes out.  What can I say – I am FULL of love.

I think I am hilarious.  I really do – I even giggled while writing this.  I even have a secret little blog where I write up daily nonsense.  It makes me feel witty.  I crack myself up on a regular basis.  My closest friends know to give me “courtesy laughs”.  I always appreciate them.

I LOVE to play board games.  I am phenomenal at Balderdash.

I have a college degree.  A bachelors in Photography from NAU.  Some days, when I am making payments to my student loans, I think about how the money could have been better spent – perhaps on some fancy new lens – and other days, I am grateful for the opportunity that led me where I am …right in this moment.

I am a huge fan of impromptu dance parties with little ones.  Crazy, uninhibited, wacky dance parties.  At my wedding, I think I danced the whole time.  Surrounded by kiddos.  It was the time of my life.   If I can find a kid to dance with me to “Barbie Girl” by Aqualung – I am the happiest gal around.

Every time I watch a Friends rerun, I laugh and cry at least once.  Sex and the City too – they always get to me.  No matter how many times I have seen the episode.

I am a HUGE crier.  I cry for commercials.  I cry while just thinking about a commercial I cried during.  I think I actually choose what to watch based on whether if may give me a good cry or not.

I drink wine.  I LOVE to drink wine.  I convinced myself a few years ago that I was allergic to red wine.  I am SO not allergic to red wine.

I can’t eat wheat.  That’s right – gluten intolerance.  I eat a LOT of corn tortillas and Tostitos.  And now there is this abundance of “gluten free” treats, and I have to remember that just because it came from Whole Foods and is gluten free – doesn’t mean it’s healthy.

Van Morrison makes me smile, Ani Difranco makes me feel better and LL Cool J makes me feel sexy.   I love a huge variety of music – and owe most of my taste to my father’s arsenal of records he played while I was growing up.  Not the LL thought – I am pretty sure that’s not part of his collection.

I love to listen to music in languages that I do not understand.  Portuguese is my favorite.  If you ever get a chance – check out CEU – her music is amazing.

I am writing this at 12:36 AM.  Seriously.  I had a Java Chip from Starbucks this afternoon and will be up FOREVER.  I can’t do caffeine – even a green tea will keep me up for hours.

I grew up in Tucson, moved to Phoenix, then to Flagstaff for school with my hubby, and back to Phoenix where I now reside.  And although I know I will forever be here in AZ, I have always dreamed of living in California on the beach somewhere for a year or so, maybe learn to surf.

Someday I want to drive up the coast of California – do the Big Sur thing with my husband.  We heart road trips, although, they are not as easy these days with a little one!

I am writing these random facts because I have been trying to write a bio for over a year now and can’t seem to get it right.  This seemed like an easier option and I think it worked pretty well.  Thanks for listening!
