I am not going to call too much attention to the fact that I have severely neglected this blog.  I will just say that sometimes, 3 blogs, facebook, facebook fan pages and 2 websites…  can be a little much.  These days I am more inclined to plop down on the floor and read a book with Vincenzo or brush up on my crawling skills with him.

I go through phases.  Right now I am inspired to get something on the blog, so I am just going with it.  I was going to try and commit to an image a day for the rest of the year, but I think I’m safer committing to just one month.  Once I have accomplished that, I will revisit the end date. Here goes :)

totally random.  hundreds of new images to share.

p.s.  weekends don’t count.

I realize that it has been completely ages since my last post.  (Yes, I am channeling Charlie and Lola…)  I have plenty of excuses consisting mostly of a completely lovely, chubby, smiling, happy, crawling, pooping, teething, eating, and not sleeping baby, but I won’t bore you with them.  It is what it is. Pure bliss.

This has been my busiest season yet and I LOVED every minute of it, of course.  I have tons of work to share, tons of families to show.  Tons of new things in store this year.

Among those new things…

I am now offering Love is Art Couple Sessions!!!  I have been photographing couples for years and am excited to offer them to my clients as well.  They are completely uncomplicated and I promise by the end of your shoot you will have had such a fabulous time that even you man will be pleased.  (Samples to be up soon!)

I will be shutting down my boudoir blog and bringing it all here. Better to have it all in one place.  I promise to keep things PG, but will be posing stories, updates, specials, and some tasteful images too.

and, I am shooting weddings!!  Very few weddings, but I am very excited about it.  I LOVE photographing weddings, but have been reluctant to offer them to clients as they are a huge undertaking and being a new mom does not allow me much time. But, due to high demand, I have a few on the books this year and can’t wait!!

I’m off to stare at my sleeping baby.  8 months and counting.  They were right, he is growing up WAY to fast.

Enjoy your weekend.

I adore photos of kids standing in a line, not necessarily smiling right at the camera, each showing his (or her) personality.  They are timeless.  I grew up in a cul-de-sac (it was AWESOME!) and there were about 9 kids, all right around the same age. I wish we had a photo like this to remember the good ol’ days.  Maybe a few shots of us ridin’ around on our big wheels.  Good times.

There is something about standing a family or a group of people in a line that brings out their nervous body language, telling you just a little bit of who they are in that moment.

These cute bugs are all cousins.  This will be awesome to look back on.

So the other day, I found myself pulling out my blackberry and showing my gorgeous child’s photo to a complete stranger.  Someone who had not even asked to see him.  And I heard myself say… “Look!  isn’t he just soooo cute?”  Yes.  I am that mom.

But, isn’t he just SO CUTE?

I can’t even stand it.

Life sure has changed since I became a Mom.  (The BEST thing that ever happened to me… I was SO born to do this!) I used to chat with other photographers who would tell me that they would work into the wee hours of the morning and I thought they were just plain CRAZY!  Who would do that when you could just sit down with your glass of vino and edit during your weekly Grey’s Anatomy and Private Practice?  “Crazies!” I thought.

Turns out, I too am a CRAZY.  Yes,  in order to spend countless hours during the day playing with my sweet Vincenzo, I work into the wee hours of the morn.  (and rarely get to watch my “stories”.) It just seems so much less stressful not to try and work during the day.  It ends up taking me a hour to answer one email or edit one photo.  This way, I have at least 4 hours of uninterrupted time to work after everyone goes to sleep.  oh sweet sleep.  I tried to start a caffeine habit, in order to stay up later and make up for the lack of sleep during the day (I told you, CRAZY!) but it didn’t quite work for me.  I’m over that now.

The only problem is that I can’t call anyone at 11:30 at night.  Although, you wouldn’t believe how many reply’s I get back moments after I send out a midnight email.  I am certainly not the only with this nifty little idea.

For now, this plan seems to suit my family well.  I LOVE being able to hang out with my little man without trying to multi-task.  So please don’t be hurt if I don’t return your email or call until the following day, I promise I am still thinking of you : )  And I am sure you don’t want a call at 12:00am.

So now that I am finished rambling, here are some of my current favorites from this wonderful family. (We shot at the Riparian Preserve in Gilbert and there was some gorgeous light.  If you are every wondering where to take a nice walk, this is certainly the place, we love taking Vincenzo.)

so many more families to share!!

It’s late.  I’m exhausted.  Vincenzo is awake and smiling.  “Really,” I say?  “This is sleeping time, not awake time.” But he just keeps on smiling, and he is so dang cute I just have to pick him up and love him.

This is Wyatt.  he is 1 and he is also so dang cute. I bet if he woke up at midnight smiling, his momma would pick him up to love on him too.

So my child will officially be 5 months old tomorrow, and to add to that… I turned 30 yesterday!!  It’s quite fabulous really.  I am married to a wonderful man whom I love dearly.  I have a lovely home to share with my family.  I LOVE my job and that it allows me to work from home.  And I wake up every morning to the sweet smiles of my gorgeous boy.  I couldn’t ask for more.

I don’t feel 30.  I’m not sure what age I actually feel.   It is interesting to not be 20 anymore…  seems like youth has passed, but I do not miss youth.  I am on to bigger and better things such as being a mommy, a wife and growing my business and my family.  Those all seem appropriate for my thirties.

The only negative thing I feel is a little sting when I think… hmmm  I will be 40 in just 10 short years.  But, that’s a long ways away.  I will have more kiddos by then and they will all be in school.  Life will be so different and I can only hope that I feel the same way I do now;  that I am in exactly the place I am supposed to be.

Vincenzo and I were playing on “photobooth” to send daddy a superhero photo today.

apparently crazy faces and outstretched arms equal super hero.

I’ll be posting about Fall Mini Sessions later this afternoon.  Have a wonderful day!

I know that I have been a bad blogger lately.  I promise I have been busy with important things like trying to teach Vincenzo to roll back over from his tummy to his back, watching him smile with his whole body, listening to him learn to laugh and having long conversations in vincenzo language. (I am even blogging with one hand, the other is holding Vincenzo, who is now trying to reach for the keys. :)

The Fall newsletter is out.  If you did not receive it you can view it HERE.  You can also send me an email at info@pamelanicole.com to be added to the mailing list.

more coming soon……

some dear friends of mine in Flagstaff had a baby girl.  she is wonderful and amazing.  when they posted these images on their facebook pages, someone commented that “she already looks thoughtful”.  Her mommies are ever so gracious and thoughtful, and I think I have to agree… don’t you?

More cuteness.  LOVE photographing newborn babies!  This one is such a handsome little guy!

and because 4 week old, tiny, 6 lb. Landon did not want to sleep for the entire 3 hours I was with him, he came to my house a week later for some sleeping shots.  Check out how HUGE my sweet Vincenzo is next to him!!

I just can’t get enough of my little guy.  Every morning, right when he wakes up, he spends about 20 minutes just smiling and laughing.  It is the most amazing thing to wake up to.

love. vincenzo.
